Shooting Stock in Signal Hill and defocusing

I went out to Signal Hill to shoot some personal stock.   Landscapes are not my thing and I get bored quick so I try to think of things to make them interesting.  I was getting some sun set shots to drop into pictures later on if they are needed.

I also spotted this couple and thought it would be a good shot.

Then the sun was set and I started to shoot some lights.

That is when I got bored and started screwing around.    The exposure was 25 seconds, I would count to 23 and start turning the focusing ring defocusing the shot for the last two seconds.  I turned the ring all the way to one way then the other trying to to shake the camera. This is what came out
